چکیده

Background Adenosine perfusion cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) has been proven to be useful for short-term prognosis in patients with stable coronary artery disease. Most of the available studies so far only included specific subsets of patients and defined rather soft clinical endpoints. Thus, it remains still uncertain, whether CMR can be used as prognostic tool concerning long-term follow up and the occurrence of major clinical endpoints such as cardiac death or myocardial infarction. Aim of our prospective study was to evaluate the incremental prognostic value of adenosine CMR over other conventional risk factors in a large, consecutive and thus unselected population of patients with stable angina pectoris.

Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging for risk stratification in patient with diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease - a prospective long-term follow-up study

Background There is evidence that myocardial ischemia in patients with diabetes mellitus is often present without the exhibition of symptoms. Moreover, recent data suggests that silent ischemia is associated with occurrence of cardiac events and poor outcome. Aim of our study was to determine the prognostic value of a reversible perfusion deficit assessed by adenosine perfusion cardiac magnetic...

Coronary artery calcium (CAC) score – a prognostic tool in coronary artery disease?

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of measurement of coronary artery calcification score (CAC) in patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) and a normal myocardial perfusion scan. Methods: In a prospective study we measured the calcium score of 74 patients (29 m, 45 f, mean age 58.7 (m) and 64.4 (f)) with suspicion of CAD and a normal perfusion scan. In ...

Relationship between Late Gadolinium Enhancement Extent in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Old Myocardial Infarction

Purpose: To assess the relationship between the severity of coronary arteries involvement and the extent and pattern of myocardial scars in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of patients with history of remote myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance images of sixty patients with history of remote ST segment or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were ...

Risk prediction in stable coronary artery disease using quantified myocardial ischemia and necrosis by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging - a prospective long-term follow-up trial

Background Until now, no consensus is reached for the standardized assessment and quantification of extent and severity of myocardial ischemia and necrosis by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). However, there is a good evidence base suggesting that these parameters might ameliorate established risk prediction models and thus might lead to an improved management of patients with stable co...

The role of myocardial perfusion SPECT in short-term cardiac prognosis of end-stage renal disease

Introduction: One of the most important causes of death in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and even after kidney transplantation is cardiovascular diseases. Thus, cardiac evaluation is of utmost importance in the management of these patients especially during preoperative work up before renal transplantation. The aim of present study is to evaluate the role of myoc...
